ABOUT VILLA ORNINGE

This remarkable 500 m2 stone villa was built in 1920 down by the sea, and has been in the family since. It’s a 10 min walk from our family farm Svinnock. The isolated 180° property facing south-west has remarkable sundowns, a beach and sauna, two jetties and is surrounded by nature reserves and magical virgin forests.

The charm and patina of Villa Orninge is beyond ordinary and we trust that you will love all of its charm and flaws just as much. All original interiors and decorations have been carefully preserved for more than 100 years including the original kitchen and furnishings.

FACILITIES

bedrooms
The house has 8 bedrooms in total. 7 of these are furnished with double beds, while one has two single beds. 4 of the bedrooms have marble sinks. The beds are original, but have been upgraded with new mattresses, pillows and duvets. Bed linen is included when staying at Villa Orninge so that you can just relax upon arrival.

kitchen
The kitchen has always been the heart of the house and is kept in its original 1920s design. However, it is today fully equipped with a dishwasher, spacious fridge, electric oven and stove and all the nitty grittys for cooking. If you are looking for something specific, let us know and we are happy to help and organize.

social areas
The house has one large dining room that easily can fit groups up to 18. There is also a living room on the bottom floor and a lounge area with a TV on the second floor. In addition to the indoor areas, there are multiple outdoor gems such as the lounge furniture and trampoline down by the jetty, outdoor dining areas, cliffs and coves for bathing and a beach with silky sand imported from Skåne.

toilet/bathroom
The house has 4 toilets and one large bathroom with a bathtub and shower. Towels (one for indoor use and one for outdoor use) are included in the rent.

GETTING HERE

by car
A car ferry will take you to the island (Ornö Sjötrafik). The boat departs from Dalarö approximately every hour between 7 AM until 7 PM. The drive to Dalarö from Stockholm takes 40 min and the ferry takes another 25 min. Once on the island, it’s an additional 10 min drive to get to Villa Orninge.

by public transportation
Let us know if you need to get here with public transportation and we can help find the best solution. Once on the island we can organize pick up for a small fee.

dock with your own boat
You can get coordinates upon booking the house. The private jetty can easily fit 3-4 boats.

ABOUT ORNÖ
There are lots to do on Ornö. It’s the biggest island in the Stockholm Archipelago with about 300 permanent residents and lots to explore. Upon booking, we will share our curated guide for Ornö and surrounding islands. We highly recommend exploring the Stockholm archipelago by boat, and you are welcome to rent our motor boat. With 70 000 + islands, the archipelago is truly unique with plenty of restaurants, adventures and stunning nature.
