Welcome to our newly renovated cottage in Färjestaden on Öland, furnished in a charming archipelago and boating style. Here, you live close to both the sea and the city’s amenities, yet in a quiet area where you can relax. One room and a kitchen, plus a toilet. In the room there is a bunk bed. In the living room area, there is also a sofa bed that can be easily converted into a bed. On the property, there is also a small guesthouse with a sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped.
The location is one of the cabin’s main advantages.
The space
The cottage is partially newly renovated and furnished in a cozy archipelago and boating style that creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, whether you’re staying for a few days or longer.
In the living room, there is a brand-new sofa bed, and at the property, there are duvets and pillows available for guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with kitchen utensils so you can easily prepare your own meals.
For added convenience, there is also a dishwasher and a washing machine/dryer in the cabin. A TV is also available for relaxing after a day at the sea or on an excursion on Öland.
Outdoors, you can enjoy outdoor furniture, a barbecue, and a wood-fired hot tub, perfect for cozy evenings. For those who want to explore the area, bicycles are also available to borrow. Also play area for the kids.
We are happy to offer our guests a bottle of wine and a goodie bag on arrival as a small welcome gesture.
In the bathroom, there are also basic toiletries for your convenience. (Hand Towel/Soap/Shower/Laundry Detergent).
Here you can relax, enjoy the tranquility, and have a wonderful stay close to the sea and nature.
The cottage is located in Färjestaden, one of Öland’s most popular resorts, with proximity to the sea, nature, and restaurants. Here, you will find lovely walking paths along the water, small shops, cafés, and swimming areas.
A short walk or bike ride away is Talludden, a popular swimming spot with a sandy beach, a jetty, and beautiful views of Kalmarsund. Ideal for swimming, picnics, or an evening walk at sunset.
From Färjestaden, you can also easily cross the Öland Bridge to Kalmar, which is about 15 km (9 miles) away. There are shopping, restaurants, historic sites, and the well-known Kalmar Castle.
If you would like to explore more of Öland, we recommend a trip north to Böda, which is located about 55 miles from Färjestaden. Here you will find Böda Sand, one of Sweden’s most famous beaches, with a long, white sandy shore and clear water.
Even further north lies the charming fishing village of Byxelkrok, about 36 km (22 miles) from Färjestaden. Here, you will find a cozy harbor, restaurants, small shops, and beautiful nature.
Öland is also known for its unique natural beauty, bike-friendly roads, and numerous small farm shops, making it perfect for day trips and exploration.
Guest access
As a guest, you have access to the entire cottage, except for the basement, which is not included in the rental. On the property, there is also a small guest house that you can use. There is a sleeping area and heating, making it comfortable to use even on cooler evenings.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook during your stay.
Therefore, you have access to both the main cabin and the guest cabin, allowing you to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Our cottage has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Upon arrival, a bottle of wine and a goodie bag await you. We provide basic toiletries and bathroom products from Rituals, as well as duvets and pillows for a good nights sleep.
During your stay, 4 large and 4 small towels are provided. For relaxation, there is a wood-fired hot tub, and for social gatherings, there is a barbecue and outdoor furniture.
Youll even have access to 2 bikes for excursions in the area. For the kids, there are outdoor play areas with soccer goals and a trampoline.
The cottage is equipped with Wi-Fi and a TV with Netflix and YouTube for entertainment.
Other things to note
The cottage comprises one room and a kitchen, as well as a toilet, and has recently been partially renovated with bright interior décor. The maritime style, featuring light colors and details inspired by the sea, gives the property a unique and cozy atmosphere.
In the room, there is a bunk bed with a pull-out bed (3 sleeping places), perfect for a family or friends. In the living room area, there is also a sofa bed that can be easily folded out, providing additional sleeping space if needed. On the property, there is also a small guesthouse, which makes the accommodation flexible for more guests or for those who want a bit of extra privacy.
The location is one of the cabin’s main advantages. You are close to the sea, about 1.2–1.9 miles away, where you can go for morning walks, swim, or enjoy the sunset. At the same time, the center of Färjestaden is within walking distance, offering cozy cafes, restaurants, and small shops.
Also nearby are playgrounds, paddleboarding, cafés, and restaurants, making the property perfect for both families and couples who want to enjoy Ölands summer life.
About 3 km to the Gallerian / shopping center in Färjestaden. There are around 30 shops here, including clothing stores, sports shops, a pharmacy, a bank, and restaurants. Here, there is also an ICA Kvantum and Systembolaget (the government alcohol shop).
Ölands Djurpark (animal park):
It has a zoo, an amusement park, and a water park. Children can ride carousels, see animals, and swim on the same day. It is located only about 1 km from Färjestaden.
The Land of Boxcars – children drive real little model cars in a miniature city. Highly recommended for children aged 3–10. (Northern Öland)
On Öland, there are many popular sights and attractions. At the southernmost point lies the Långe Jan lighthouse, Sweden’s tallest lighthouse, located in the Ottenby Nature Reserve. There, you can go up into the lighthouse and enjoy a fantastic view of the ocean, and often also see birds and seals. At the northernmost point stands the Långe Erik lighthouse, near the special nature area Trollskogen Nature Reserve, which is known for its gnarled, fairytale-like trees. Trollskogen is a popular destination where you can walk in nature and discover old shipwrecks. Other well-known places on the island include Borgholm Castle, a large castle ruin with a long history, and Eketorp Borg, a reconstructed Iron Age fort where you can learn more about how people lived in the past.

In Färjestaden on Öland, there are several popular restaurants and cafés. By the harbor, you will find Ölands Choklad, a café and chocolate shop where you can enjoy coffee and buy handmade chocolate, ice cream, and other sweets. It’s a popular stop for both children and adults who want to take a break by the sea.
Another popular spot in the harbor is Seasalt Kitchen, a restaurant with outdoor seating close to the water. Here, they serve seafood dishes, burgers, and salads, among other things, and during the summer, there is often live music in the evenings.
